Join us on the last Deptford Last Fridays Tour before September! This is a chance to walk round galleries open on a Friday evening with an experienced Deptford art map guide to introduce you to artists and galleries in the area.
In addition, take the opportunity of extending your evening by booking a table at the local renowned Rivington Bar and Grill, well known for its links with the Hoxton and now the Deptford art scene. The Rivington have kindly offered a 2 course meal and cocktail at a very reasonable rate, I am sure you will agree!
Deptford is fast becoming one of the most talked about creative areas in London, with galleries and studios opening constantly, expanding the wealth of exciting visuals and innovative experiences that already inhabit the area. Explore this creative hub, with an experienced tour guide, who will show you another side to the area. Visit galleries and studios, meet artists and directors, and have the chance to view and buy amazing artwork. A chance to experience a behind the scenes viewpoint of the phenomenon that is Deptford.

BEARSPACE began as a project space in a previous public house ‘The Brown Bear’ on Deptford High Street. The gallery originally started from a belief in the potential of Deptford as an ‘arts destination’ and the enormous degree of artistic talent and self motivation of artists in Southeast London, recently descibed by the New York Times as ‘a boisterous concoction of blue-collar aesthetics and intermittent hipsterism’.
Since that time the gallery and area has grown into a vibrant hotbed of activity. BEARSPACE artists are selected for their response to contemporary culture, philosophy, with a conceptual and narrative framework to their work. BEARSPACE prides itself on discovering really interesting artists early on in their career, and promoting them through gallery exhibitions, art fairs, curated exhibitions and collaborations.
BEARSPACE’s contemporary art gallery on Deptford High Street is open to the pubic at all times during exhibitions. In addition BEARSPACE has an exclusive viewing room in Greenwich where new works by gallery artists can be viewed at a time that suits you.
